Event Registration & ESNcard
We organise a wide range of events, trips, and social activities throughout the semester. All event registrations and tickets are managed digitally through Kide.app.
Non-Profit Organisation & ESNcard Benefits
ESN Graz is a non-profit organisation run entirely by student volunteers. We do not profit from our events. In fact, every single event ticket sold with an ESNcard membership is subsidised at our own expense to make activities as affordable as possible for exchange students.
To purchase tickets for our events, trips, and paid activities, you must hold an active ESNcard. Due to legal regulations and insurance coverage requirements, we cannot allow non-members to join paid events. We kindly ask for your understanding.
No ESNcard yet? You are still very welcome to join our open, free events, such as our weekly Regular’s Table or informal park days!
How to Get Your ESNcard & Register for Events
-
Create a Kide.app Account:
Download the Kide app from the App Store or Google Play Store, or register online at Kide.app.
-
Apply for Membership Online:
Submit an online request for the digital ESNcard Graz membership. Although Kide lists the initial price as €0, this is simply the digital application step.
-
Pay & Activate in Person (€10 Cash):
To complete your registration, bring €10 in cash to our Office Hours or speak to our team directly after our Welcome Presentations. We will collect the membership fee and activate your digital card on the spot.
Note: Cash is currently the only accepted payment method for ESNcards whilst we work on bringing this payment option online.
-
Buy Event Tickets:
Once your membership is activated, browse our upcoming events on Kide.app and secure your spot!
Form Filling Tip
When applying for membership on Kide, leave the “ESNcard Number” and “Issued By” fields blank. Our team members will complete these details when verifying your account in person.
FAQs:
If you can no longer attend an event after purchasing a ticket, please review our refund guidelines below:
1. Reselling & Transferring (Primary Option)
The quickest way to receive your money back is to transfer your ticket directly to another exchange student via Kide.app.
- Process: Use the built-in transfer feature inside Kide.app to send the ticket to a friend or fellow exchange student (the recipient must also hold an active ESNcard).
- Trade Channel: You can offer or find resold tickets in our official Event Ticket Trade Chat located in our WhatsApp community.
- Fixed Preferences: If an event requires specific details (such as dietary requirements or clothing sizes) and the editing deadline has passed, these options cannot be changed. The buyer accepts existing details upon purchasing a resold ticket.
2. In-Person Office Refunds
If you are unable to resell your ticket, you may request a refund in person during our official Office Hours at least 7 days before the event. Please note that standard refund requests sent digitally via email or social media cannot be processed.
3. Exceptional Emergencies
In unavoidable emergency situations (such as sudden illness or accidents), we assess refunds individually on a case-by-case basis. Please attempt to resell your ticket or visit us during office hours before contacting us regarding emergency cancellations.
Please note: Regardless of the refund method used, the non-refundable Kide.app service fee (€0.55 to €0.95) cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
Unfortunately, we do not operate a waiting list system. If an event is sold out, we recommend monitoring the “Event Ticket Trade” chat in our WhatsApp community, as students frequently resell their tickets there if their plans change. Tickets for events at the start of the semester tend to sell out very quickly. To help you secure your spot, we always announce the exact ticket release time in advance on our Instagram and in the WhatsApp community.
Guests are very welcome to join us at open, free events that do not require tickets, such as our weekly Regular’s Table or park meetups! However, for paid events that require tickets, attendance is strictly limited to active ESNcard holders due to legal and insurance requirements.
We include meeting points and basic itineraries in the event descriptions when we announce them on Instagram and our WhatsApp community. For larger trips to other cities, we create a dedicated chat group within the community to share detailed schedules, meeting spots, and live updates throughout the trip.
For events that include food, a mandatory question regarding dietary preferences and allergies will appear directly on Kide.app during the ticket registration process.
Not at all! Our main communication language is English. Our team members speak English, and all our events, tours, and activities are conducted entirely in English.
If sudden weather changes or emergencies require us to adapt an event quickly, we post immediate updates on our Instagram stories. We also use this channel to announce any unexpected cancellations of events or Office Hours.
